Elastic Heart
Fustrated because I really want a nap but i spilled custard powder ALL OVER my desk and the dispersion causing interspersion of powder and floor appear to have chemically interweaved into each fibre of the carpet forming a new chemical compound consisting of custard and carpet :(
Alas, I want to nap, but I fear If my mother comes home and finds me in bed with an ominous omnipresence of white powder everywhere, she may think I've overdosed on cocaine :-(
ANYWAY, today was good because In lit today the teacher started the lesson like: 'okay here's your mocks back first prize goes to raf bcus he the only one who got an A' and it was so nice despite the awkwardness of the entire class looking at me, this was more than superseded by the benevolence of their faces illuminating like magic whilst applauding me, thus inciting a transient sense of fame. :3 when people were questioning muvabucka on how to ameliorate their essays, she would just be like 'yyo raf let them read your essay' which subsequently provoked others requesting a read. The reverence was so surreal. Honestly, walking out the exam I was pretty sure I'd got a D, yet I only dropped five marks in the first essay!!! but someone told me how impressed they were how I managed to compare Margaret Thatcher to Hitler :-)
its moments like this one feels sympathy for the primary antagonist of Breaking Bad: He was good at manufacturing crystal methamphetamine; he enjoyed the power of people begging for business with him. Equally, I empathise with these feelings of reverence. It may be the only thing Im good at, and lets b honest lads Im gonna just be an English teacher who'll get bullied by the year 8s and probs even 7s but Idek bcus its the only thing I'm good at and I love English Literature <3

SO, utilising my skills, one will explore my interpretation of Sia's controversial music video to my favourite song at the moment: the beautifully evocative tune that is 'elastic heart'. Not Electra Heart bcus Marina and the Diamonds \I/
YES the video consists of marginally sensual touching - between a man and a girl who are insufficiently dressed - perhaps indicative of fragmented intimacy, but I don't see it as a peadophillic relationship; I think the girl is a significant visual device utilised to portray the fragility of Sia's emotions: due to her susceptibility to fragmentation 'like a rubber band', she is depicted as a child which reinforces the delicacy. Furthermore, their lack of clothing may represent how they feel exploited, and perhaps susceptible to abuse. Alternatively, they could be two sides to one person: Whereas she is fragile like the 'elastic heart', he represents the 'thick skin', calloused by the repercussions of it. Physically, these are both polar opposite portrayals, but this could represent how there is more to people than what you see on the surface. Also, she is able to slip through the cage, whereas he cannot, yet she choses to stay, perhaps symbolising the sacrifice she is making. Perhaps for someone else; perhaps to leave the damaged part of herself behind, finally unburdening herself by letting go. However, ultimately their coexistance becomes damaging, thus she has to leave; although it is a struggle, it is a necessary sacrifice. MEDIA, Y U TAINT SUCH BEAUTIFUL ART WITH SUPERFICIAL PERCEPTIONS? I saw not even a fragment of implied peadophillia.
