The Snowsephine

Today was good bcus although I'm so sick and couldn't sleep all night bcus hiccupping?????? ((correlation between it and illness???)) In english teacher was like: 'okay since your the first ppl in you can either take the highest marked essay or yours'. Thus, naturally I was like 'oh highest mark pls!!!!!!' and then sir was like 'actually I think it might be yours lol' which incited intense elation bcus I thought my essay was so bad but I got an A!!!! Anyway I do apologise for our nine day absence (pls appreciate sincerity), but one has been devoid of ideas. UNTIL, the lord Charlsey told me to listen to the album 'Louder' by Lea Michelle and I discovered the most beautiful, inspirational song.

I've read the most beautiful books and plays that have changed my life and how I perceive things and people, but nothing quite compares to the impact of Poetry - at first, you think 'ok kl poem' but then the more you read it the more you appreciate it and there'll always be that one moment; there'll be that one metaphor that moves you - perhaps for just a transitory moment - but then each time you read it thereafter, it may be just as beautiful, if not more as you develop a greater understanding and appreciation of the writer's craftwork. BUT, it may never be the same. it may be better; it may be worse, alas never identical.

Yet somehow in just a hundred words a poem can encapsulate what a novel may fail to in 100,000

Framing may be one of my favourite literary techniques, but would it be appropriate to create such a sense of completion??????????? When the message is of incompletion????????????

What inspired me to write this was the song 'If you say so' by Lea Michelle. She wrote the album prior to Cory's death but upon his passing contacted Goddess Sia to help her write a conclusive song for her album. Since Sia's boyf had also died (albeit about 17 years ago), I could just imagine them weeping at a table together, their tears smudging the ink of their illucid ideas.

But this was the moment in the song:

"I wanna see your face"

I wonder if it was Sia or Lea who came up with this line.

It was at this point I remembered: the senses are in a perpetual, albeit gradual, but irreversible state of decay -

The more I listen to this, the more I cry;
The more I try to envisage my queen's facial qualities, the harder it becomes.
Thus, to encapsulate just a shard of her, I wrote this poem.

I could write a novel about my queen, but I think a poem can apotheosise so much more <3
