Dreaming
Because its just another boring day of ye Easterlies break, while lazing about I thought it would be a perfect time to practise daydreaming! I found out on da twitter (via uberfacts) that daydreaming can actually be good! o_O. And I thought it's a great way to let my mind drift off without sleeping. And on the plus side I'd actually have a controllable level of control over my thoughts! Unlike dreaming I don't know what I'm going to dream about, and once I am dreaming I'm not good at going lucid. Not that I want to though.
Daydreaming is better because;
Daydreaming is better because;
- • I can go remember my thoughts more • I can keep my eyes open • I can pretend to be working/ listening • Can still be aware of my surroundings • bacteria won't build up in my mouth • It's like dreaming but having more control, without having to be lucid and plus I can just snap out of it without being all grouchylies if I'm woken up before I want to.
- Don't have to sleep to do it
Daydreaming is disadvantage to dreaming because
I don't get to recharge my-cell-f
It can be a form of procrastonation
I don't have to be particularily tired to do it, so it may be distracting when I need to be getting on with other htings.
I may not take information in, but appear as though I am
I was doing it whilst reading 'The Hunger Games', which wasn't good because I had to go back and re-read a couple of pages!!
Hmmn, sleeping in the day is bad as it messes up your body clock, and that is why old people always sleep in the day as they have started when they were tired when younger cas of late nights, and now do it all the time. Daydreaming is good because it is merely thinking about stuff, letting your mind wander, and gently steering it where you want to go. Lucid is kinda like observing your subconscious through your conscious (which is _you_). You are your conscious and your subconscious is the other part which takes in other information you don't. That's why lucid is good as it can help you remembering things you didn't notice. A trance or hypnosis is probably just lucid dreaming. Observing your subconscious is good and so is letting your conscious flow, and so is letting your subconscious take over night-watch. We have a subconscious because some time long ago, our brain split to allow us to watch ourselves when we were sleeping to keep safe from predators. Cats do this, but they generally stay in the same state. They kinda have a more joined subconscious, which allows them to dream and be awake and stuff. That's why they don't get startled by familiar noises when asleep (people walking, talking or moving.)
